I would like to reply to what Ellen needed to say on list. I find what she had to say offensive and totally inappropriate. I would like to say, that I am co-writing the so called book that Ellen mentions with Noeleen Smith (nee Lloyd)The concept of our book was; 1 To hopefully bring about some form of reconciliation between the extended Kelly family and others (being that Noeleen is a Lloyd and I am a descendant of Thomas Curnow's)Yes and we are great friends. 2 The exact details of our book are. We are writing about the people that were involved in the Kelly years AFTER 1880 and BEFORE 1945, No living person was to be mentioned. I am writing about the hostages, railway employees and police. Noeleen was covering sympathisers and others. 3 The stories we intended to tell were about the people, not about their skeletons. I.E. On of the hostages was a boy of 16 yrs of age, his only formal education was four years under Thomas Curnow at Glenrowan school, this young man went on to become a millionaire. DOES ANYONE FIND THIS STORY FARMFUL Our efforts so far have been applauded by the Police Historical Unit, Historians, People of note (Ian Jones, Keith Mc Menomy, Brendan Pearce, Matt Shore, Brad Webb) and thats just dropping a few names. What has upset me the most is that Ellen needed to say this on list. Aus-vic-NE is a wonderful, friendly, fun group of people and I am disappointed, that now seems to be spoilt. What a shame that an innocent request by our wonderful ringmaster had to be so vidictively answered. To Ellen herself; What you sow, so shall ye reap. Judith Douthie
