    3. For those of us lucky enough to have the BDMs for Victoria, have you ever been in the position where you can't find anything for the life of you. Today I was fiddling around with the BDMs and started using the buttons on the right of the look up section (where you put in names etc). Has anyone ever tried not inserting a name of any description but pressing the button on the right. e.g. Death place, click on button and up comes all manner of places. The beauty of this method is that you can see the variations in spelling used on the registrations for towns, eg. Beechworth comes up with a few variations. INsert this name, and you get results. The bottom button gives you parishes. UP comes things which I assume don't show up under normal registrations, e.g. Carl Women. pentridge comes up also under one of these buttons! I never knew this before, haven't delved far enough obviously - but it is amazing what is there which may have been missed because of the spelling. I'm off now to play with names and variations!
