Is this the beginning of the end........ 19 Oct 1888 - A lady and gentleman, who were about to take a drive on Monday morning, had their enjoyment slightly marred. Having engaged a buggy and pair from Messrs. Crawford & Co.'s stables at Wodonga, the pleasure party had only proceeded as far as the railway crossing, when the shrieks of the whistle and the running of the train so terrified one of the horses that, after sundry attempts to get out of the harness, the poor animal reared and, coming down heavily on its head was dead in a few minutes.
