I thought I'd relay to those of you who attended the circus a result I had today When the rest of you were touring Tarrawingi Cem and peering at the Bronze Lady in Eldorado , I was visiting Brookfield pottery at Everton. It happens that a couple of years ago I visited this place in the hope the chap may know where my gg's land "Brookfield" was exactly. Sadly I learnt that no house remains but he did give me a photo of activity on the place and I learnt the land was directly opposite his home. So when I was down there I took with me 3 newly unearthed (again that darn cousin) photos of Brookfield, the orchard and home and outbuildings, the kilns and the staff quarters. My contact was over the moon and extracted from me a promise to send him copies for he is the local historian (lucky me) and is compiling history of the area for display in the local hall. Today I received in the mail another photo of men "thrasing brown corn" on Brookfield from this Everton man. I am now on the bot for the photo of HIram sitting with men outside the local church!!! Can someone please tell me what on earth is brown corn??? These 5 workmen have a conveyor belt in front of them and above them apparently generated by a tractor. I am keen to find out more about brown corn, but being a city slicker I know naught about produce - and this is from a market gardeners daughter, shame. See folks, it pays to stick your nose into all sorts of places. This guy also wants to buy my book when I reprint it. My lucky day. Denise
