    3. Please excuse the cross posting but I am on a mission (arent we all ! ) (g) I have seen, touched, and fallen in love with a piece of jewellery which my greatgrandfather had made from gold he found in Woolshed Beechworth in 1856. It is a pin/brooch and is just so beautiful. It depicts him working his claim. It is in the shape of Australia, gg is Cape York, he is winching up a bucket of gold, there is a tent, mullock heaps, buckets spades and all manner of equipments needed to mine. He had a message inscribed across the bottom. It is reasonably large. I am hoping someone may know of a "historic jeweller" if there is such a thing - someone who has done much research into old jewellery. My other thought was to send digital photo of it to Vic Museum and ask their opinion. Sadly there appears to be no hallmark. It is presently in the hands of a cousin in the United States and I have promised to find out more if I can . Any suggestions welcome. Thanks, and Happy Easter everyone Denise
