    3. Bron, Dr. Benjamin Clay Hutchinson is mentioned on a number of occasions in "A Hospital in Wangaratta" - D. M. Whittaker. "The local doctors were invited to assist. Dr. Benjamin Clay Hutchinson agreed to accept the position of Resident Medical Officer at £100 per annum. The doctor had his own practice in the borough and also had the contract to attend the railway construction gangs, as this was the time the Melbourne to Sydney railway was under construction..........In May, 1873, Dr. Hutchinson was given authority to order more instruments from London to a value of not more than £25." And for Denise, "To celebrate the opening of the Hospital, a grand ball had been held on 31 July, 1871. .......Messrs. Crawford & Co. advertised special coaches from several outlying settlements." Jackie/Melbourne Bron wrote: Would this be Dr. Benjamin Clay Hutchinson???? I have a research query here for that name. It states that he was born 1836 in Edingburgh and practised in Wangaratta around 1880. Any further info on this man would be welcomed. Bron.
