I don't believe it but I think I've found an ad for the hotel where my ggmum was employed. Only a couple of months ago I found what I think is her arrival in Australia and then to beechworth. She was employed by the Beechworth Arms. When down at the circus I had my head in the OVens and Murray Advertiser and copied a page with something I wanted on it. Or rather half a page. I have just noticed half an ad which refers to "Arms Hotel.....Creek. and mentions Mrs. The woman who employed gmum according to her assisted shipping info, was a Mrs. Wigman, or perhaps a Mrs. Wyman - it was hard to read. Now this ad, refers to a Mrs and Arms Hotel and Creek (Beechworth). Is anyone going to do any researching of the O and M and could look up this paper for me. I don't have the exact date but it was in September 1857 as one of the ads is dated 17th September 1857 referring to a date coming up soon. I know this is a long shot but on the page is another ad which is for THE ROYAL HORSE BAZAAR in Ford St. and The Wooragay Horse Paddock. (large print for the headers). The ad is 3 colums left of the above ads. I know it is a long shot, but please if anyone can spare the time, I'd be so appreciative. I'm curious because I can see words like :Free and Easy Twice a Week" ments thrughout the house immediate superintendence of Mrs. second to none in the sitrict first importers in Melbourne Table, free The mind is boggling. This may give me a bit more of a lead on ggmum. regards Denise
