Susan During the 1860s and part of the 1870s, my g.grandfather Johnson Quin held the lease on Murmungee Run until the Land Acts came into force. On a survey map I have of tha area it shows A. McMaster holding 20 acres in 1888 and J.McMaster holding 19ares3 roods and 34 perches on the Qvens River at the boundary of Murmungee. This is all I can find as regards their land ownership Carmel ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan Baines" <susanbaines@lineone.net> To: <AUS-VIC-NE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 14, 2002 5:53 PM Subject: [AVNE] Murmungee & McMaster > Looking for information about an Andrew and/or J McMaster, who may have > owned/run a station at Murmungee. Dear Carmel That is exactly what I needed to know - many thanks. On an "inherited" family tree, I had a Mary McMannus being born at Murnungee station - and we all jumped to the conclusion that we were talking about railways : ) Not much point in a station with no track! Mary married Henry Lowerson, and became the mother of Albert, the famous local VC winner. Thanks again Susan ----- Original Message ----- From: Carmel Hickson <carmick1@optusnet.com.au> To: <AUS-VIC-NE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 15, 2002 5:13 AM Subject: Re: [AVNE] Murmungee & McMaster > Susan > During the 1860s and part of the 1870s, my g.grandfather Johnson > Quin held the lease on Murmungee Run until the Land Acts came into force.
