Hi Listers I apologise for the cross-postings but this is just the information I wanted and perhaps some others do as well. I have recently bought a book called "Irish Records; sources for family and local history, by James G Ryan, Ph.D." It lists explanations of what can be expected from various types of records, then lists all Irish Cos by name. Under each Co. name it then lists all sorts of sources - Census and Substitutes, by year, Church records by parish, Commercial and Social directories, Family Histories, Gravestone Inscriptions, newspapers, Wills and Administrations, Miscellaneous Sources and, in some cases, Research Sources and Services and web site names, as well as maps of each county. Please note it does not include individual names etc but it does tell you either where to find them, or the appropriate holdings nos.
