Hi Everyone, This post was on AUS-VIC-CENTRAL, but I have come across here to reply, as I think this is the more correct list. The reference I am using is Voice of the Mountains, Journal of the Mountain Cattlemen's Assoc of Victoria, no 18, 1995. It is the special Wonnangatta issue. In it, Dr Brian Lloyd provided a two-page article "Allen Brothers, the Alexander Syndicate and Wonnangatta Station". He discusses the involvement of Thomas Allen's sons with a number of properties and areas and taking over Wonnangatta station after murders there in 1918. The article basically serves as a short family history of that generation. The article is an edited version of his book "Tales of the Ten Mile: Ballybeg to the Bush", due for publication in 1995. In it he writes of the life and times of his great-grandmother, Mrs Mary Allen of Ten Mile. He also published "Off to Wonnangatta: Victorian Mountain Cattle Country in 1922" by Marge Allen. In 1995 his publications were available from Histec Publications, 13 Connor St, Brighton East 3187. (Or you may be able to obtain "Tales of the Ten Mile" through inter-library loan - that is if there is not someone on the list who has a copy who could consult it for you - I do not have a copy. Or someone may be able to advise you where you could purchase a copy. Maybe Jamieson Historical Society???? Regards Linda
