Hello Peter Thanks for the reply. It was my mistake to assume that BARWO as the place of birth on the Digger index for children born in 1900 and 1901 was Barwon. The family were in Tungamah in 1909 when one of the children died. Their father was a blacksmith there. I located Barwo on a map, and as you say it is not near Tungamah. Do you happen to know anything about the history of Barwo? Thanks again. But I can't see a nearby town with a name anything like Tungamah. Could you be thinking of Barwo which one would describe as near Nathalia or near Shepparton (to go to the nearest big town)? Tungamah would be about 70km east of Barwo and not what one would normally draw a connection between. What is the connection you have between Barwo(n) and Tungamah?
