Way back in 1980 I started to research my family. Bits of information were gathered very slowly. In those days I had to write letters and post them , some even had to be sent by Airmail and then I had to wait for a reply ! Over the years I have put my Genealogy research to bed and vowed never to touch it again! Then things got a little better people got the internet. Still some branches of the tree were hard to find. One such branch lived in SA so information was scarce on documents. Since 1980 I have not been able to get much information on the Cook family. Then the mailing lists changed everything! In a space of one month (in 2005) I find my Cook relatives from all over. A friend of my relative saw my posting, recognised the name and within a week I was speaking to my 85 year old cousin who had photos and information to share! I then found my other Cook members by writing to a local family history society. I will now have to go on a road trip around Australia to meet all my "new" relatives. Cheers Kathryn
