I am researching the Military Records of a great Uncle William Jones who was born in Myrtleford and lived in Tallangatta. His parents were James Jones and Mary Ellen Barton. He was in the 2nd Pioneers Regiment. Would like to contact family members of Jones from this line from Myrtleford and Beechworth Cheers Kathryn
I have William JONES( ?-?) married to Margaret KELLY (1834, Co. CLARE-1911) who lived at least for some time around Mt MAcedon but other parts of the kellys I know moved to Tallangatta district. My William is not likely to be your William but he could be his uncle. cheers jon Date: Thu, 14 Jul 2005 13:09:57 +1000 From: "Paul & Kathryn Lucas" <[email protected]> I am researching the Military Records of a great Uncle William Jones who wa s born in Myrtleford and lived in Tallangatta. Jon, This is so tempting to answer. A stab in the dark, but sometimes they work... I have a great-grandmother Mary CONWAY born in Co Clare 1830s (at Tulla) who lived in the Tallangatta area died 1896. I don't suppose you have had the opportunity to research Irish records and have some luck on relations there??? I can't get anywhere except to say that Mary's father was Thomas a stonemason, and her mother Honorah Noonan/Nunan. Mary's sister Catherine also came to the northeast and lived in the Black Springs area. Just hoping that one day some one will pop up and say Hi we are related back in Ireland.!! Been trying for 7 years. If no luck, it's just nice to know that at least she had some country men and women nearby, who knows! regards Denise ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Patrick" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 15, 2005 2:46 PM Subject: Re: [AVNE] William Jones WWI >I have William JONES( ?-?) married to Margaret KELLY (1834, Co. >CLARE-1911) > who lived at least for some time around Mt MAcedon but other parts of the > kellys I know moved to Tallangatta district.
