Hello Anne, Where did you get the name Carlton Park? Edward Sampson STEELE purchased a property in 1856 called Calton Hill - could this be the one you're after? I think the nearest "town" to Calton Hill is Wallan - STEELE was listed in directories for 1868, 69 and 70 at Wallan Wallan. There are references to both Calton Hill and Edward Sampson STEELE in ... "Pretty Sally's Hill: A History of Wallan, Wandong & Bylands" by J W Payne. I know that the Kilmore Historical Society sell copies of this book. Hello Susie, The name 'Carlton Park' comes from correspondence written by Edward S. Steele himself which I have in my possession. The address written in top right hand corner of the said correspondence is Carlton Park, Bylands and the letter is signed Edw. S. Steele. Anyhow thank you for the information below. I will definitely follow it up.
