    1. Birth Certificate - error!

    3. My sister was registered at birth in Swan Hill on 25th November 1930. (U.R. Beverford). Under ' Parents' the name of the father is given and in this case under "Previous Issue" is the following:- Previous issue - No previous issue. By a former marriage No issue. There was definitely no former marriage. Has anyone else ever come across such a discrepancy (or similar) on a Birth Registration certificate? Why would those words be entered - could it simply have been an error by the Registrar? Margery

    3. Margery, I wouldn't say it was an error - It seems the Registrar was probably being super-efficient and covering all options with respect to pervious issue. In fact it would have helped me in a number of research situations if such a question had been compulsory (i.e. where the parents had previously been married or had children in another relationship).
