I've had an old plough lying about the place for years and finally I've put it where it can be seen in the garden as "decoration". So for the first time, I've really had a good look at it. It's a single furrow plough, with two handles (as you'd expect), and on the main iron component there are three words stamped in when the metal was still red-hot. In large capital letters on the top is the name HUNTLY, and beside that a word I simply can not read (not even a letter) and at this stage can't tell whether it's upside down even! Further down the piece is most of the word CARLTON, again in large capitals. Is anyone able to help identify this for me? It looks perfect where I've put it, and would like to know more about it.
