Hello Listers, I have just come into possession of a copy of a marriage certificate between Maria Christina Jamieson and John Riddell. The marriage took place at Goorambat (? - writing hard to read) on 10.9.1890. The groom was born Stockyard Hill Beaufort and the bride at Kingston. The usual and present residence for each was the same, that is Benalla for the groom and Goorambat for the bride. Is anybody interested in this couple? Can anybody help me with how close the three towns mentioned are? That is Benalla, Goorambat and Kingston? Also how close is Nathalia to these towns? Help would be appreciated, Janet in Sydney
Hello Janet, As no-one else is having a go at this one, I will. Goorambat is about 15-20km north of Benalla, and Nathalia is a fair bit away being about 90 km north west of Benalla via Shepparton. For a map showing Goorambat look at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~surreal/AVNE/Towns/map-delatite.html#top However, I don't know of any Kingston in the area and would think it is most likely the one near Creswick (in the Ballarat area). For other Kingstons in Victoria, have a look at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~surreal/victowns/K.html Cheers Peter ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At 04:25 PM 18/04/2005 +1000, you wrote: >Hello Listers, > >I have just come into possession of a copy of a marriage certificate >between Maria Christina Jamieson and John Riddell.
