    1. Death - Ann Gedge

    3. Hi All, I and others have searched high and low for a death entry for an Ann GEDGE (nee BROOKMAN) b. England, possibly Middlesex county, 1813/1814 - father's name Henry and she married David Baleham GEDGE, London in 1841. Ann was still alive and living near Buninyong, Vic. in 1863. I would be most grateful if someone came up with her death entry. I should mention Ann had 7 children betw. 1843 and 1858 - David, William Benjamin, George, Sarah Ann, James Robert, Joseph and Catherine Jane (born in 1858, Durham Lead, Vic.) Thank you. Cheers Anne Hanson [email protected]

    3. Anne, David Gedge was judiciously hung in Melbourne's H M Goal in 1862 he was a groom and 19 years of age. Going by the age and date of marriage, I guess it can't be your man unless the Inquest age was transcribed incorrectly. Any chance Ann could have remarried? 3. Denise, Guess what - David Baleham GEDGE and his wife Ann (nee BROOKMAN) were the parents of the David GEDGE who was judiciously executed (charming phrase isn't it). It's a long story which I won't go into now except to say I have been researching David GEDGE and his two fellow accused Elizabeth SCOTT and Julian CROSS for more years than I care to think about. I am writing a book about the case. They were all charged and found guilty of murdering Elizabeth's husband, Robert SCOTT at Devil's River. It's a very sad tale. I'm attempting to locate a photograph of David GEDGE, hence am tracing all sorts of relatives etc. Ann GEDGE seems to have disappeared sometime after 1863. Her husband, David Baleham GEDGE died in Richmond, Vic. in 1894. I think I've checked the Vic. divorce index but may be I should check again. Many thanks for your interest. Cheers.
