Hi again Cathy Your original message finally arrived. I'm curious now to know if you find out about another Willie KOCH in the Devenish area. I'm also wondering if there are any other cemeteries in the area where they could possibly be buried. I've just been through all the family cemetery photos I took when I made a whirlwind visit to Victoria last October and the only KOCH headstones in Devenish cemetery, that I could find anyway, where mine (unless I overlooked one). I didn't find any KOCH headstones at Cashel cemetery and there are also no KOCH's mentioned buried at Dookie cemetery. There is a Thomas SPRIGGS buried at Dookie cemetery. I don't have a photo of that one, but he is the only SPRIGGS listed on the list of people buried at the cemetery (the cemetery has them listed within the grounds with a map of where to find them, extremely helpful). Amelia POTZSCH (various spellings) married Ernst Heinrich THIES on 10 Sep 1854 in Melbourne. He died, and in 1859, also in Melbourne, she married John SPRIGGS. They moved to Devenish where they became quite well known. Family lore has it that Willie KOCH (which one?) was Amelia's cousin. Amelia's parents were Johann POTZSCH and Christiane KOCH from Grosshatmannsdorf in Saxony. Does anyone know of the KOCHs in NE Victoria and where they came from??
