Hi Loretta, Which Dumbrells had the sawmills you referred to? William had a lot of offspring, most of whom I know little about. Since your last email I've found that he was in a Surrey workhouse, as an assumed orphan until he came out as a teenager in the 1840s and married in Sydney in about 1855. Kind of sounds like a scene from "Oliver".
