Hi Mary, Thanks for the info on Henry B CAREY. Today I found the death of his son Francis Wm CAREY (ex-machinist, probably Vic Railways) in France in 1918. I was able to download 69 pages of his military records from the Aust War Memorial. Henry from 1918 wrote letters to the Army asking details of his death, obtaining photos of his grave, etc, all on Vic Rail stationary (Commissioner's Office), hence the huge file. Henry signed himself "Commissioner's Guard" in 1922, so I can presume that he is the guard in the photo.
