Most female patients that died at the hospital were buried in unmarked graves in the Beechworth Cemetery.. Only those that were in contact with their immediate families were buried elsewhere... Judy, There is a Jack Smith living in Diffey Rd Beechworth, he is an elderly gent and had brothers... Also there were Smiths that lived in Bridge Rd...some of their families still live in the area.. Also unsure whether the John Milne is the same one, but my great uncle was a John Milne. will have to ask Mum if she knows any details on him.. I know he is buried in the Beechworth Cemetery, Presbyterian section.. Regards Lesley Send instant messages to your online friends http://au.messenger.yahoo.com
Hi Lesley, Thanks to Wendy I have some information on John Milne but I am having trouble finding out who exactly is the William Smith I need to research. There are just too many William Smith's! As soon as I have additional information I will let you know.
