    3. THE LATE FATAL ACCIDENT AT YACKANDANDAH The body of Mr Smith, whose sudden death we noticed in our last, was recovered on Tuesday morning, after a considerable amount of labour in which many of the neighbouring miners assisted. From the position in which the body was found, it would appear, that two of the logs which form the roof of the tunnel, were forced down before him, thus cutting of the unfortunate man's escape. The immediate cause of death was suffocation, as there were no marks or bruises on the body, and one arm being thrown before the face as if in a last vain effort to keep of the accumulated sand. An inquest was held the same afternoon, by Mr Warden Lane, which resulted in a verdict, in accordance with the facts of the case. Note: >From the Vic Inquest Index I think Mr. Smith, was a William SMITH, aged 35, a miner from Yack. Cheers Anne Hanson No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
