    3. Hi, I am researching the Clare Family, more precisely Arnold Clare per Speke also recorded as(Arnot/Arnott/Archibald) who had been a Convict Overseer on the Great North Road and was the overseer responsible for building grandest bridge on the road. It appears he went to Victoria where he married and was listed as a house carpenter. He ended up buying a house block in Albury. He had a son Peter born 1850 who was baptized out of Albury. When he died in 1861 there is no record in the index of where the event occurred [age transcribed incorrectly as 34 instead of 54. But a Peter Clare married in 1874 and the index states Peter Clare married Mary Ann Edhouse 1874 Married NSW reg Victoria. My questions: i)For people experienced in researching in this area does this suggest the family stayed in Albury ? ii)are there any records of residents in the Albury/Wogonda area for the period 1850 -1862? iii) is anyone related to this family ? iv) do Victorian death certificates ask the length of time in Australia ? v) is there a transcription service for Victorian Certificates where I can request one or two fields only for a lesser fee ? As I am researching Arnold Clare for a article for the Great North Road journal the Pick I am trying to avoid spending money buying the death certificate if I can, I have read the marriage and baptism records in the NSW pre 1856 BDM microfilm of the transcribed church records. Kind regards Elizabeth Roberts
