Hi Judy I have information on a James Clarke Shanks, from Ireland of "Lakefield" Hurdle Creek Vic who had 9 children with Roseanna McAliece. Maybe I can help. Hi Doug, Great to hear from you. The information I am after is anything to do with Alfred Shanks. I have become involved with a project to write a short history and hopefully supply a photo of the men of the district who were tunnellers in the first World War. I have access to the BDM's and see that Alfred and mary Jane had a child Richard die at the age of 23. Do you know if there were any other children from this marriage? Hi Judy On looking further into my records I do have found information on Alfred Shanks 6th son of James Shanks and Roseanna McAliece who married Mary Jane Smith daughter of James Smith and Mary Booth.
