Hi Researching my Paton family - a James Andrew Paton (born Abt 1852 in Yea, Victoria) eventually settled in the Corryong area I think. He married Frances Collins (born 1854 in Adelaide, South Australia; died Corryong). According to paperwork of my mother's James (maybe known as Andrew) Paton was a lay preacher or Reverend around the Yea or Corryong areas and then became a farmer/grazier. They had the following children: Mary Catherine m. Oliver Alfred Hays (or Hayes) Ernest Alexander m. Annie Harris Charles Edward m. Mary Ellen Coysh (my line) Alexander m. Sarah Mann Pinkey (or Sarah) m. ? Drying James Andrew m. Jean Nugent Thomas m. Jean Gillies Ivy and Sarah (both died a few weeks after birth, as well as Frances who died shortly after their births) If there is anyone who is related or has any further information about the family or associated families would love to hear from you. Hello, Deb. My cousin is a Collins descendant and I've been researching her family, including taking notes from the Corryong cemetery records. This is what I have; note that because Frances and James were collaterals I haven't recorded all their kids. I can't find William's birth on the SA index, but I haven't spent long on it. Frances' parents' full names weren't recorded, not was her exact birthplace, so William may be recorded with insufficient info for a quick search to find him.
