Hello listers, Graeme Massey (with the help of students at the Warracknabeal Secondary College) has produced a very nice looking book giving details of the Light Horsemen charge on Beersheba in WWI (the last great cavalry charge). The full title of the Book is Beersheba : The men of the 4th Light Horse Regiment who charged on the 31st October 1917. ISBN 978-0-9750268-3-0. The book has a paragraph or two of the basic details of each of the soldiers of the 4th LH (mainly from their war records). An example (for John Henry ALLEN) is shown below. The book also lists the members by the areas that they lived/worked in at the time of enlistment. I have included the list for the north east below. Also I have included a list of those (from the NE) who did not take place in the charge (due to injury, etc.). If you would like a summary of an individual's entry, please email me privately, NOT by this list, today (Saturday) only. Cheers Peter ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Example of an entry ALLEN John Henry (Jack) Trooper 2456 Born at Toronto, Canada in 1886. He worked as a hairdresser at Seymour.
