I should have looked for similar names The first map I used showed Middingbank, another showed Middlingbank. And as Jackie indicated, it is at the Southern end of Eucumbene. Google searches will bring up both names. Still unsure I found a great site for NSW place names http://www.gnb.nsw.gov.au/ . It looks like Middlingbank is the official title. Confirmation from Elizabeth and others that Manaroo was an early name for Monaro seals the case The NSW BDM baptism cert is typed and it seems likely that in the transcription error may have been made and a "d" was left out, or perhaps in 1844 it only had one "d" Cheers and thanks again Hec
