    1. [AVNE] Chedaneau/Chedeneau & Emma Luckett
    2. Anne Hanson
    3. Good Afternoon, Does anyone know anything about a Francois (Frank) Chedaneau/Chedeneau who married Emma LUCKETT in 1881? Francois was born in Paris. I think he may have died in Beechworth aged 90 in 1932. I do have their children's names but I can't understand how (if I have it right) Emma died an ASHBY in 1947 at Mooroopna aged 87. I have checked the MacBeth's Divorce Index and their doesn't appear to have been a divorce and I can't find the ASHBY marriage. Anne Hanson No virus found in this outgoing message. 1. Re: [AVNE] TERRY/HUNT
    2. Lynne Thompson
    3. Thank you for that Bill. I have John TERRY's death certificate (that too is very hard to read) but it Says he was buried on 10 Dec 1854 at Benalla by (William?) Phillips. The witness of the burial looks like it could be Sub- Inspector Reid. The cause of death is a bit of a mystery as well, it looks like it reads Disease of the heart produced by exertion at a fence- Death quiet sudden - No medical attendant at the death" . Then 5 months later his wife marries William Henry Frederick HUNT, in the Profession column it says what looks like "Publican & Farmer in England now A shepherd". I have never seen certificates like these before and if you want a copy I Will gladly send them to you if you think they will help with your look-ups. Like you said it makes me want to scream, I have searched for months for Them in NSW and then find they hop over the border and their certificates Have got all the info on them but too hard to read. Will wait until Tuesday. A million thank you's for your offer. Lynne

    3. Hi Lynne, Doesn't it make you want to scream. Will have a look what we have in the Benalla & District Family History rooms, but can't do it until next Tuesday when we open again. I would be almost certain that your mystery house is "the house of Tatong Station" as Tatong Station was originally part of the Kelfeera Station Run. Can also look up the cemetery records if you don't have all the details. Cheers, Bill Willett. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynne Thompson" <netty@picknowl.com.au> To: <aus-vic-ne@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 16, 2007 4:29 PM Subject: [AVNE] TERRY/HUNT > > After searching nearly a year for my 3xgreatparents, I have finally found > them and to my great frustration I am unable to read my grandmothers 2nd > marriage certificate. 2. Lynne Thompson
    3. After searching nearly a year for my 3xgreatparents, I have finally found them and to my great frustration I am unable to read my grandmothers 2nd marriage certificate. (The important bits). My grandfather John TERRY died 9 Dec 1854 at Kelfera Station near Benalla and is buried at Benalla he was a Shepherd Grandmother Sarah TERRY married William Henry Frederick HUNT 15 May 1855 at what looks like The house of Tatlong Park, it looks like he was also a shepherd. He was a widower and had 3 or 7 children. Is anyone looking into any of these families or has any information it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to find where Sarah TERRY nee WEST was born and who her parents were, first marriage certificate didn't say and second certificate has something in the column but is illegible. Also if anyone is looking for the marriage certificate of Jane McCORD to James ROCHFORD in 1855 I have a copy, this marriage is legible. Thanks for reading this Lynne Very frustrated

    1. [AVNE] Researching a 19c convict
    2. MMB
    3. For those of you researching 19c convicts: In 1872 William Towers was 12 years old. He was caught stealing two rabbits — possibly for food for his family. As punishment William was sent to Wandsworth prison. He was Prisoner 4099. A group of students created and performed a play inspired by William's experience using real historical documents. The actual records still exist and are kept in The National Archives. This website tells the story. <http://www.learningcurve.gov.uk/prisoner4099/> The website gives the sources of their research on this lad and it might help. Click on "historical background" to go this page: <http://www.learningcurve.gov.uk/prisoner4099/historical-background/ default.htm> An interesting site. Maria Brandl
