    3. Hi Doug, Somewhere I have a photo of one "Duke",think the name was Colin ,Gardner, taken at our camp in where the prize pigs had been housed, at the Colac showgrounds in 1941. We were members of No 1 ( Wangaratta) Troop, B Squadron of the 8th (Indi) Light Horse Regiment.I took the photo on time exposure so Duke had to sit still for a while, not easy in the circumstances. The Wilson"s were our next door neighbours at Wooragee , they had been there ,originally with the Graham"s ,since the early days of the settlement of the Wooragee Valley. During my schooldays I used to walk through Wilson"s house on my way to and from school, down through the orchard and through the house. When the last of the Wilson"s ,"Old Jack" lost a leg "YoungJack"and his wife Mona , who,I think was a Gardner, came to Wooragee from Milawa to care for him until he died, they carried on the farm until "Young Jack'died ,the farm was sold and Mrs Wilson went back to Milawa. They were wonderful friends and neighbours to us. Regards Alan French

    3. Hi Anne I WISH Kate Harding Bone married James Furnell in Victoria in 1859 after coming on the ship Sussex from England in 1858 with him. Their first baby died at 9 weeks in April 1860. She was 25 then so she was born in 1833 approx. He had three children with him born to him and Sarah Harris who was not on the ship. Someone has found a marriage of Sarah Bone to a James Furnell but I dont knnow if Sarah Harris and sarah Bone are the same person or any rel. My sister in law thinks that Kate was the nanny now I have asked around a bit more. So Kate could be the sister in law or whatevr. Also I think James furnells father was also Jame s but aagain I do not know. I think the Furnells were born in Middlesex, England I wonder if the marriage would have any of that detail? I really dont know if she died or went home to England.....it would be nice to know The window is probably 1875 when Emily Caroline is born to her and James, and 1903 when James if farming at Myrhee without her. Ideas appreciated!Facts too!!! I think this is the daughter. Kate Harding Bone married James Furnell in 1859 and had a daughter called Kate Harding who was Kate Harding Furnell in 1861 In 1894 the daughter would have been 32, the mother would be older, she was 25 in 1858 when she came out. Pyramid Hill was the Furnell family farm so would made sense for either to die there. Kate Harding Bone Furnell's last child that I know of was born in 1875 I THINK Kate Harding Bone died before 1903 when someone has kindly told me her spouse James Furnell was farming at Myrhee with the youngest dau Emily who married Joseph Wills. 3. Hi Anne and thanks I have had several helpers but this one is eluding me. So somewhere between 1875 and 1903, probably at Geelong or Wangaretta or Beechworth or Pyramid Hill or Trafalgar.
