    3. Hi Hugh, It's been a while since we communicated - hope all goes well with the search. I've not got anything new on the connections down in Carboor area - I simply haven't been working on that in the past few years, but hoping I will be back to it next year. I'm the one who found a Hurdle Creek in the Beechworth-Stanley region on a mining map I have here. Happy to copy that section for you if you would like it. regards Denise -----Original Message----- From: aus-vic-ne-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-vic-ne-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Anne Hanson Sent: Tuesday, 16 October 2007 9:21 PM To: aus-vic-ne@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AVNE] Hurdle reek/Hurdle Flat Hi Hugh, I am familiar with the Carboor area as I was friends with one of the Bussell girls. Another lister checked a map she has at home and yes, it now seems there are two Hurdle Creeks - the one that rises in the Upper Carboor and one that and I quote: "Hurdle Creek starts at Chinaman's Flat and Deep Creek runs off it." Am hoping Denise will see this e-mail and will respond accordingly. 3. Hi Sam, In 1974 I bought a house in Albury which had been built by a SHARP, but I (stupidly!) sold it and moved away in 1980. For the life of me I can't remember his first name but it will come to me. (It did... his name was Ernest) He built the house for himself and family, some time in the 1930s (and boy, is it BUILT!). I loved the place. It is at 511 Garden Street , Albury. I had a copy of the original plan submitted to the Council...I framed it, and sold it with the house, so it still could be with the present owners. I have photos of it of course if you'd like. Ern Sharp built the Albury Town Hall in 1908, and it still stands as the Albury Art Gallery. I'm not able to help you further, but if you like to contact the Albury Historical Society (C/o the Albury Library & Museum, Kiewa St Albury 2640) I'm sure they can help. Good luck, and let me know if I can help further. The other day while doing a search of the Sand's Directory I came across GRAY and WYNACK DAIRY and I am after any information about them, i.e.; names, address. I would love to be able to go to Albury library myself and do a search but its not possible at the moment as I live in W Vic (almost 40km from the SA border) If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. 3. Welcome Sam, You'll find this a good supportive group. My connection to Gray is Annie Blair, my great aunt's, marriage to John Gray 1866 UK-1914 Rutherglen in 1894 at Tallangatta. They had Gladstone 1894, Loris 1896, Cynthia 1987 and Thelma 1900. I think all eventually moved to Melbourne. I have contacts with other descendents and look forward to seeing if you're connected to my group. My connection to the Sharps is as follows. My grandmother was Edith Sharp and the Sharp family was from Longwood, near Euroa. Her parents were Henry Grenville Sharp and Ellen (Ryan). Henry had brothers Edward and Sydney who had many descendents and Edith who was childless. Their parents were Richard Sharp and Mary (Burns) and they are buried at Longwood. Good luck in your research.
