Hi all - There is a good URL - www.bookfinder.com which I have used twice to purchase books. Both were most satisfactory - and I do not use credit cards. I e-mailed the sources with details of the purchase I required, and sent a money order. I have just been in to look, and there are several outlets with copies of the Wangarratta book. I only checked the first one - it is in Prahran- cost seems to be $40 +. Hope this info is of use to some of you. I checked his web site and found this "Graham Jones (1929-2000) Graham Jones was born in Charters Towers, Queensland, in 1929. After working as a cartoonist, writer and illustrator in Australia and England, he married in 1956, and settled in the North East of Victoria working in radio as a copy writer, broadcaster and farmer. He began researching North East Victorian history in the 1970s, researching from primary sources mainly at the Burke Museum in Beechworth. His breadth of knowledge of local, Australian and world history was emmence. As man of great humility, balance and depth, he remains much respected and missed." He certainly will be missed. Hi List I was wondering if anyone has a list of burials in the Beechworth Cemetery or any other cemeteries in the area. I'm looking for a Lemuel Isreal Green. There is no death record but I know that his wife Mary Ann (Phillips) met up with another man in Beechworth. So I am assuming that he died in this area. Thanks in advance Nardia Lakes Entrance Victoria
Nardia...............whilst I can't help, I did notice last night that the LDS web site has the Beechworth Cemetery available at their "offices" - try the one closest to you. Of course they may only be transcriptions.Has anyone used this before? Dear Caroline, You will possibly be able to solve the mystery about Ellen King who was married to John Kelly. "After John died Ellen moved her family closer to her Quinn Relations, and settled on a small holding at Eleven Mile Creek near Greta. In 1874 Ellen again married an American George King and there were three children of this marriage." http://www.firstfamilies2001.net.au/firstfamily.cfm?id=KELLY195384479At The author of this particular entry on John Kelly will be able to tell you when Ellen died because the author's mother or grandmother looked after Ellen until she died. I think she died in Wangarratta Hospital If you have problems accessing John Kelly directly you could start from the homepage of First Family 2001 http://www.firstfamilies2001.net.au/welcome.htm Regards Jo Kelly

Hello Lois, I cannot help but follow this one thru'. Having just been on the trail of my ORRs, I suddenly see a message from an Orr. Wonder could you (or spouse, perhaps) belong to my little group. They started with William and Mary Anne (nee Russell). Most of the descendants have been girls, so the ORR name has been preserved only by (known) sons John William Russell and Robert Edward (may be John Robt Ed) in generation 1. Then there was John Robert Russell who died in 1950 - Flemington. I wonder is any of this familiar to you? At 09:52 PM 1/31/02 +1100, you wrote: >Hi Gary > >I have several books on Euroa and will have a look to see if your MATTHEW's >are mentioned in them. Which book is this? Some of Graham Jones books are still available in Wangaratta shops. Let me know which one and I 'll see if it is available. Bron.
