    1. [AVNE] Home again.
    2. Denise McMahon
    3. Hi Everyone. Back from the Deep South to find a mail box overflowing, even tho I'd unsubbed from so many lists. The n/e lists have been busy it seems. We had a wonderful time. The weather was kind, the north east people were kind (including Zipper Ross) in fact the north east people were their usual wonderful helpful selves. I found lots I didn't expect, as did Judy W. for one. I wish everyone could have seen her face when she found a connection to Di Carroll. It had been her day for sure, and then to find out this, did she giggle. I was delighted to meet everyone, those who attended were all wonderful company and we had some super fun filled meals. B/worth will never be the same again I think the largest group for dinner was close on 30 people. I am sure the local hosteleries will be in hiding when the circus hits town again. One actually got advanced warning and closed for business! I am sure we will all have more to add. I for one have found snippets of names I recall being posted on the list (whilst in the Burke Museum) and when I've unpacked I shall post these and hope they help. In the meantime I must clear my box of hundreds of emails. Great to be home, but it was a ball, and thanks to all who attended and made it such. Many many thanks to Di for arranging all she did, great evenings, information to hand, and the various family groups available to all who needed them. Denise

    3. Lorraine. Sorry for the delay, been down with the circus. This photo does not have a date, but going on the age my grandfather appears to be, I would think it probably in the 1920/30's. 1. [AVNE] STACPOOLE/HINE in Woods Point
    2. Ted Lanning
    3. Hi Listers, I have just received a photo of a gravestone in Woods Point and it says: "ELIZABETH HINE (she is my 2x gr grandaunt) and her infant grandchildren Vera Abodina, Honor Marguerite STAGPOOLE and Victor Alexander" Unfortunately there are no dates. I have bits and pieces of information for the first two grandchildren. Apparently they were both 15 when they died which suggests that they were twins and it would make their birth date abt 1880. I believe that they were born in Woods Point and I also believe that their parents were John Goode STACPOOLE (Mine manager in Woods Point) and Ann HINE daughter of Elizabeth HINE. One little complication: John & Ann did not get married until 1882 -- 2 years after 1880 however ....... First of all, I am fascinated with their names and why did twin girls die in the same year --possibly the same time-- at age 15? I have no idea who Victor Alexander was. If anyone is doing research on the STACPOOLE or HINE families especially in Woods Point, I would love to hear from you to compare notes. I have much more data on their ancestors. Cheers, Ted LANNING, West Vancouver, BC CAN

    2. Margaret Kennedy
    3. Dear Judy, I believe I might have a little extra information on the Cullen line. Angus Fraser Cullen born 1872,Albury NSW was the son of William Cullen and Janette Fraser. Janette Fraser was born 1838 Nova Scotia. Her father Angus Fraser was born 1808 & died 1890, Woodend Vic. Sorry I haven't studied the Agnes Reynolds line but may be able to get information from other relatives on that line. Perhaps you could provide a brief chart to me showing the details of what you have already, so I can ask an elderly relative. in case she has extra info. My association is with a Cullen marrying a McLaurin. My 4x g,grandfather was a McLaurin. 3. Hi David, It's a long time since you sent this note to the list. I am interested in your Kneebone research, but only from a 'side view'. Kneebone/Tippett connection and how they are connected to the families listed below. They seem to intertwine like rope through the Fisher family. Perhaps once you are settled up here in the North East we may be able to delve into this complicated connection. I agree it is the best part of the state and particularly beautiful at this time of the year. Look forward to keeping in touch.
