    3. Pamela I have got the book and I think I may have got it in either Yackandandah or Tallangatta New - it has no price on it. It is only a snall book 52 pages. It was published in 1980 and the printers were Thomson Printing, 401 Kiewa Street, Albury 2640. It may be worth while contacting them to see if they have any copies or know where you could obtain one - they may even be able to put you in contact with the author who may have some left. Also since the forward is by Gordon F. Craig Chairman (in 1980) of the Albury Wodonga Development Corporation the Albury Family History Group may be worthwhile contacting. You never know. 3. I went looking around June 1859 to see whether the story I had extracted was reported in the Gazette. Yes At 1.15 am on the 24th instant the mail coach from Beechworth was stuck up on the road between Seymour and Broadmeadows about 4 miles from the latter place, by 3 armed men, two of whom were mounted and one on foot. Verdict to the effect that the child had been deserted or exposed, but whether living or not as the time is not shown by the evidence. The portions of the body found in the first instance appeared to have been carried into the scrub by dogs; about 500 yards further in was found a calico bag tied with a piece of pink ribbon, containing rags saturated with blood, and close to it the skull and blade bones of an infant. Appearances seem to indicate that at this spot the birth had taken place and that the body had been partly devoured by dogs or pigs. Additional enquiries are being made. 20.3.01861 William Turland has been arrested by the Ovens police for deserting his fmaily 20/3/1861
