    3. Hi All, Would SKS be able to take a photo of my ALDERDICE grave/headstone please? I don't know where they are buried in Beechworth cemetery, so can't guide anyone straight to them. Sorry about that. As I live at the other end of Australia and can't see me getting down there in the future, I'd appreciate it greatly if someone would take a photo. We can discuss payment etc later. TIA Helen >> >>

    3. I am trying to locate the descendants of Rose and John Edward KEMP who lived in Beechworth for most of their lives. They were married in 1884 and had seven children. Many died young. There were three that were alive when Rose died in 1932. Charles Walker (born 1888), Bernard John (1896-1946 seemingly single) and Percy Kemp. I now know that Percy changed from being a tanner to a police constable and lived in Melbourne from the 1920s until his death in 1971. He married and had two daughters. However I do not know what happened to Charles Walker Kemp. I do not have a marriage or death for him. He is also very elusive in the electoral rolls. I would be interested to hear from anyone who knows of this family. Regards Sue Melbourne

    1. BROWN, PARSLOW and HALL
    2. Sue Kelso
    3. I am trying to locate the descendants of David Edward Brown who lived most of his life in Whorouly as a labourer. He had been born to Robert Brown and Mary Walker in Beechworth in 1869. He married Rose Hannah BARKER, nee McWATERS, in 1912. She was a widow and at 43 years this was his first marriage. They had three daughters but not long after delivering the last child in 1919, both Rose and the baby (May) died. They are both buried in the Myrtleford Cemetery. Forty years later (1959) David died of pneumonia in Wangaratta Hospital and was buried in Myrtleford Cemetery. His first daughter was Mary Josephine, born in 1913 in Whorouly. I have found a possible marriage to John Maurice HALL, who died on 10th May 1970 in Wangaratta. He had been residing at 137 Vincent Rd, Wangaratta. His headstone indicates that he had two children Rosemary and John. His second daughter Alice Jean married Harry William PARSLOW in 1939 and they both died in 1967 in Poowong (Gippsland). I would be pleased to hear from anyone who is familiar with this family. Regards Sue Melbourne

    3. Hi Lesley - I've been trying to find an Alex Duncan - believed to be an Engineer at the Asylum, who was later at the Yarra Bend Asylum. Have found a David Duncan - Engineer by searching children at the Primary School (I'll have to check the dates) - maybe some connection. My Grand Mother was born in B'worth 1879 and we believe went to Melb. to live with her Uncle after her mother died - Alex Duncan - but we have no details / timing My G.G. Mother was Minnie Hennessey b1849 Cork, Ireland d1886 B'worth - She came out in 1852 or thereabouts - so looking for some connection between Duncan and Hennessey. Any info greatly received, good luck Mary Conway -----Original Message----- From: lesley kiker [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, 12 April 2005 11:04 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [AVNE] Duncan family Beechworth I am researching the Duncan/ Pritchard/Driscoll families of Beechworth and was wondering if there is anyone else researching any of these families. In particular the Duncan family. In amongst my grandparents photos there are a great deal of unidentified photos of which I have had copied. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that may be able to put a name to some of these. Some of the Duncan christian names are John, William and Hector. 1. Address of ggrandparents at Rutherglen
    2. Peter Gerholt
    3. Seeking advice as to where I can access information as to where my ggrandparents lived in Rutherglen. From an excerpt in an obituary notice on my ggrandmother, it states: On Monday morning another of Rutherglen's old identities passed away in the person of Mrs Annie Goldsworthy, relict of the late John Goldsworthy, of Chiltern Road, at the fine age of 72 years. The deceased, who was a resident of the State for 55 years, was among the first settlers on the Rutherglen goldfields, coming with her late husband, who followed the fortunes of mining for years, but as old age began to tell on him he planted a small vineyard on the Chiltern Road, near Mr J Kelly's, where the old couple lived for a number of years. This notice was in 1908. I have looked in the electoral roll for Rutherglen and it confirms they were on the Chiltern Road in 1899. John was a miner and he worked the quartz reef situated on Schwarer's Hill, and also at a later date had a good claim on Campbell's line of reef, but I don't know if these mines were in the Rutherglen area. Grateful for any help. Laurette

    3. Catherine, Replace the word Mum with Dad Mum Knows Best At four years of age, "My Mummy can do everything." At eight, "My Mum knows a lot - a real lot." At 12, "My Mum doesn't really know everything." At 16, "Mum? She's so old fashioned." At 25, "Well she might know a little bit." At 35, "Before we decide let's get Mum's opinion about it." At 45, "Wonder what Mum would have thought about it." At 75, "Wish I could talk it over with Mum." ----- Original Message ----- From: "Catherine Browne" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, April 11, 2005 6:47 AM Subject: [AVNE] Help Please - Off Topic Though > Hi Everyone, > > Firstly my apologies for being off topic and then for cross posting but I > need you help...
