Ian, Depending what info the researchers are after, they could access the correspondence files for school No 736 at the PRO for the years the fellow they are interested in was teaching there. Most likely there will be some letters he has sent in - generally if things are running smoothly there may not be much, but if there is any type of dispute happening there may be some really interesting infomation. If things got really ugly, they used to call in the District Inspector who conducted an inquiry with the various parties giving evidence. Nearly every rural school I have investigated has had some sort of major dispute over the years.
