Chiltern firefighters in north-east Victoria are hoping someone will spot their antique station bell, which was stolen on Monday night. The bell weighs about 500 kilograms and stands almost a metre high. It is about 100-years-old and is inscribed with CFBB, standing for Country Fire Brigade Board. The station's captain Andrew Walls says it is hard to measure the bell's value. "I don't think it'd be scrap value, it wouldn't be worth the effort of taking it," he said. "Certainly as a conversation piece maybe it would have some value and of course the way we look at it, it's got historical value which you don't measure in dollars."
