W. Hedley, manager of Golden Plains mine, Mitta Mitta writes to Towong Shire Council drawing attention to the dangerous state of the main Omeo track opposite Lennan's place. According to Hedley the track at that point made an unnecessary deviation from the river flat over a high precipice which was badly in need of repair. Wanted the council to form a new track about 16 chains along the river flat at the foot of the spur. Hedley willing to defray half the cost of making the desired alteration, the total cost not to exceed £15. - Referred to engineer to inspect & make arrangements if need be. Reported from Corryong Courier 11.10.1994 Chris
Christine, Thanks for this. This is Will who was mine manager various places. Now if you can just find what happened to him after about 1916 - this is one of my mysteries.
