Can anyone help with any information concerning this man or his family prior to 1900? His many descendants in the NE now have the Anglicised name of Quoney. A family member believes the original Quon Noey came to Victoria about 1855, married Sophia HIPWORTH (nee McLEAN?) in 1875 but there the story becomes more confused in that he's believed to have died and been buried in Yackandandah, exhumed and remains sent back to China. There are no records of this at Yack Cemetery. It's strange, since BDMs say he died at Walhalla 20/3/1879 aged 52 and is buried there. There may have been two Quon Noeys. Any info at all may help locate him at a place & time, help me with the Yack Cem records and the Quonoey family with their project. Peter R
