6.10.83 Snails - The gardener at the Ovens Hospital found seven genuine English snails. The interesting little creatures (not my words believe me) who carry their 'houses' in the shape of shells on their backs were objects of curious interest to those who saw them, particularly to Australians, to whom the sight was a rare one, while it revived recollections of home among those in whose country such snails are common. - The Buffalo Heifer Estate - 450 acres freehold land and 15,000 grazing right up for sale. Describes the property rather well if anyone interested. Thanks Denise - Alexander and Archibald are mine - not sure about J... How come this rare sighting of snails is not the case in my garden? Our front garden is all of 15' x 4' and my daily occupation is to extract about 15 snails to be disposed off.
