OMA 8.10.1861 Wm Lawrence butcher of Beechworth leaving the colony - OMA 5.10.1861 John K Brown leaving for Scotland OMA 5.10.1861 Robert McKenzie after 6 six years in Ovens and family store in Newtown leaving this part of the colony - OMA 8.10.1861 -- OMA 8.10.61 Kiber & Rockstraw beg to inform the public that they will translate the English, German and French Languages and copy music and documents of every description and also give lessons in the above languages. #3 Somerville Cottages Camp street. - 8.10.1861 - OMA Wiesenhausen falls down 150 mine shaft - going on favourably - broken this and that - Word in from NZealand - the word "DOLEFUL". Newspaper expects to see many locals who have got as far as Melbourne returning on 'urgent private domestic affairs" to the northeast! - Many left from Wangaratta for New Zealand. George Harrison returns from England buys Joseph Brown's butchery at Growler's Ck. - The ladies will be racing at Battley Town - Side Saddle for Lady equestrians only. -

    3. Maybe NZ is where I'll find young John MILNE. Does anyone have any ideas about how/where I might be able to get the NZ records searched? One of the later Milne's did go there - but that was towards the end of that century.
