Hi everyone, I would suggest to everyone that they go through the BDM certificates they have and submit the details to the AVNE list support page. I have submitted most of mine to this list, and as a result am contacted occasionally by researchers asking for information. It is rewarding being able to help others, but the information I have received back from the other researchers has been amazing. Example: I listed the spare deaths on my great grandfather's death cert. (William Blewett, Bruarong, 1930). Another researcher contacted me regarding another death on the same cert. (O'Callaghan, Mudgegonga). It so happened that the researcher's mother had married an O'Callaghan, who she met while she was a young school teacher at Bruarong. While she was at Bruarong it turned out she boarded with the Blewett family. I was then able to find mentions of this teacher in an old letter written by Alice Blewett. The researcher then hunted out an old unnamed photo of school children outside a school and had a copy done for me - we wondered if it could be Bruarong. I sent a copy to my mother's cousin, who is 81, and he was able to name all the pupils in the photo. As I am working on a history of the Bruarong school, this was a big bonus for me - all because someone contacted me for a 'spare' death! Ronda
