    3. Hello all, I hope I have the right list. I am having trouble with my GGG Grandfather - James SMITH. I know that he married Ann RAIT 1/1/1842 in Fifeshire. I think they arrived in NZ on the "Thomas Harrison" on 25/10/1842 and their first child Georgina SMITH was born about 1842 family lore says in Nelson NZ, could have been on the voyage out - yet to find any written evidence. They only had one other child, Annie, was born about 1847 in Sydney, NSW (too many to be sure if 1846-48). I have Ann nee RAIT's death - 9/1/1877 in Bright and she is buried in Bright Cemetery with her daughter Annie and a grandchild. Annie married William CONACHER then after his death she married John Thomas BETTLES. Georgina moved to Tarnagulla where she married James Robertson CAITHNESS then they moved to Williamstown. Now my problem is James SMITH. How do I work out which death is his? He is not buried with Ann. Any ideas??? Thank you Regards, Pat
