OMA 27-11-1937 Sherry - The friends of Christina Sherry are respectfully invited to follow her remains to the place of interrment, Beechworth cemetery. The funeral will leave the Catholic Church this day (Wed 27-1-1937) at 3.30 H.P.Farley, undertaker. Miss Christina Cherry They death occurred at the Ovens District Hospital on Tuesday last, 26th January of Miss Christina Sherry, a daughter of the late John and Mrs Catherine Sherry former will known residents of Beechworth. Miss Sherry was born at Black Springs 77 years ago, and was a very competent cook, always remaining with her employers for long periods. Before leaving Beechworth Miss Sherry was cook for Mrs. I.Goldsworthy, whose husband conducted the grammar school here and had a large number of boarders. She was for 11 years head cook at Nissons Hotel Flinders Lane, Melbourne and on her retirement came back to Beechworth and resided with her sister, Mrs A. Cotter. She is survived by another married sister, Catherine, who lives in West Australia. The funeral took place to the Beechworth cemetery on Wednesday afternoon last, the Rev. Father Ryan conducting the burial service, of the Catholic Church. Mr. H. P. Farley had charge of the mortuary arrangements.

Wonderful thank you, this gives me something to go on now - This is the family which I said never married - now we have a married sister! I knew about Mrs. Cotter but the other one I'll have to look into the marriage. In fact Catherine never came into the equation at all. There were two Sherry families I think in the town.
