    3. Hi list, regarding junk mail, I used to get a lot, but now just the online medication ads. I use a program called mailwasher pro, which allows me to scan and view the emails before opening my mail program. I can bounce emails back to the unwanted sender, and they get an undelivered mail message, and hopefully remove you from their mailing list. It also assists in virus detection. They also offer a free trial. Link to the site is listed here. http://www.firetrust.com/products/pro/ Regards Phil -----Original Message----- From: Wendy [mailto:wendyfensom@optusnet.com.au] Sent: Sunday, 14 November 2004 12:19 PM To: AUS-VIC-HIGH-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [HC] Re Junk Mail Hi Bev, Yes, I've had various emails over the years from places like Nigeria and the Ivory Coast wanting my bank account details, etc. They pop up every now and then. The worst ones at the moment seem to be the 'drug' web sites wanting to sell cheap tablets, etc. I have cut my junk mail by around 90 percent or even more - my provider provides a free service and they automatically dump most of the junk into a special mailbox where it stays for two weeks so that you can check it if you want to. I didn't have to say what had to be dumped like some software systems do - they just seem to be able to identify most of it somehow. It's great as I only receive a handful of rubbish a week instead of truckloads and I never bother to check any more. I imagine more network providers will provide this type of service in the future so it might pay you to check with yours.
