Hi All, Am cleaning up my e-mails - arduous task and came across the one below. As a so called Beechworth 'local' I'm wondering where this Battley Town was because I've never heard of it. So I'd be grateful if someone could enlighten me. Oh by the way if any of you ever read that the Beechworth Courthouse was made of sandstone - you have my permission to go poo hoo because it was made of local honey coloured granite which I think came from Fiddes Quarry. The only reason I bring this up is because last night I read in a book written by a local Beechworth author that the courthouse was made of sandstone - I nearly fell out of my wheelchair in surprise.
