    3. Can someone please advise whether a marriage registered in Melbourne in 1841 or a birth registered in Melbourne in 1843 would show the wife or mother's place of birth. My guess is No but I'd like to confirm that please. I know that both the marriage and the christening were at the old St James C of E. Thanks, Wendy

    3. Hi Wendy As they were pre-civil registrations unfortunately not in both cases. It was not until 1853 that the format was changed to include the extra details.
