    2. Merren Cliff
    3. Denise Thanks for my Esther Muter in the Upper 6th - if helps anyone else Esther was 17 at that time, being born 1866 - must confess I had not realised that she would have stayed at school that long - particularly being a girl. Interestingly David Muter in the fifth was only 12, born 1871 - quite a deal of disparity! Mary Selina McQuilten in the 3rd was born in 1873 so was 10 and Selina Crameri was born in 1870 so was 13ish. Eliza Houston in 2nd was born in 1875 making her 8. Didn't realise that all of these were in Stanley at the time - so thanks once again Denise Cheers Merren 6.1.1883 Stanley State School #550 - annual distribution of prizes. The last two years school rated highest in the district for percentages at last exams the third highest in the colony, exceeded by Timor andKoyuga. 3. Hi Denise, thanks for this. Not sure if they belong to my McIntosh clan yet - as far as I know I have no-one in Stanley, but you never know. 3. Denise A quieter year for my lot, but still lots of interesting snippets. Your detailed listing of the Stanley school info below was most interesting - placing my families and other names in context. Also the fact that James Muter was a singer has intrigued my mother-in-law. Thanks so much for all the effort. Hopefully more newspapers may head your way once you have finished your book.
