Well there IS an Alma Rd in the St Kilda Elwood Brighton region (and Caulfield at a stretch); from memory the St Kilda cemetery backs onto it. And there were / are some Grammar schools that area too. Just checked the Melways - it starts just in St Kilda, runs through East St Kilda (cemetery backs into it as I thought), and then into Caulfield North. It stops at Hawthorn Rd which is near as a whisker to Malvern / Armidale. There is a St Michael's Grammar School in Redan St; Redan St runs parallel to Alma Rd and is the first street up. It is conceivable they sold off the school playing fields which would have gone through at some stage to Alma Rd. It is up the St Kilda end. Dawn Melbourne -----Original Message----- From: Peter L.
