Aggie Martin (nee Blewett) to her mother Alice Blewett (nee Waterson) Havilah P.O. via Myrtleford 30-10-34 Dear Mum, Your letter came glad your were well, we are all here too. I've been very tired this last few days no energy at all I hope I'm not getting the flu. We have plenty of it around us. Wards are bad with Mrs is very bad different time there has been some of them about here too. Father hasn't arrived back yet. Mr Maguire's Mother was buried in Bright yesterday with the father. She was 87 yrs, 46 yrs since the father died. The few fine days are delightful aren't they after the rain. The flood last week was the highest since we have been here. Well still you have to walk in the water the other side of the bridge at the creek but only about 6 in deep. Mr Brown could not get across at all for a couple of days. Then it was knee deep. It was right out to that tree that leans across the track half ways to the ??? hill. Myrtleford flood must have been bad. Our paddocks are very wet. The cow we tried off to fatten was sick yesterday. Edgar gave her a drench she seems better today. She is fit for beef now. Our sow too is sick she hasn't eaten for 4 days altho today I thought she took more notice of us. I do hope she gets betters, it was own first try for some young ones. One gosling died but they seems to be getting on well now, 5 of them are a lot bigger than the others. Still have the 24 chicks. Another hen to come out Friday for myself 10 of the others are for Father. Mrs. Hens sent me a setting of turkey eggs. I haven't got a hen sitting to put them under yet. I get up to 16 eggs. One old goose took the young ones the other doesn't case much now. She does a bit of watching them , well even the old man does that but Mrs Grey always sits on them. There are no more calves yet, 2 more shortly then a spell & another. Then there is another lost her calf this year altho we never found it. She is to have another but she'll be a year behind. There is plenty of feed about our sub paddocks are beautiful. Plenty of sub there if it had the super. O I must tell you about my baby I forgot last week. He is walking well. For sometime he'd take a few steps and fall over but now he can walk well altho sometimes he has a little crawl for old times sake. They are both asleep now. Thelma doesn't ride as much, she is a bit afraid of the pony. She is lovely & fat & shiny. Thelma doesn't have a stick now & she is as safe as she always was but a stick makes her flash. Scott makes us feel close to England doesn't he. I don't like the Duke he doesn't look nice. P of Wales & Duke of York looked far nicer, don't you think. I will have to close now and wash the separater. Where is Jack working now. The flowers most of them are looking pretty bad on it. What were those to rooty things something like Lilly of the Valley. Its looking well, 3 lillys well daisies with bulbs all gone. I hope they come next year. Hope to see you soon & will tell you about them then. Much love from all to all Aggie Herb Madason was in Yack Hospital sick. Mancy's X Ray plant was out of order. He wanted to X-ray him.
